    Barking Abbey Girls Football Academy march on unbeaten in their U21 National Football Youth South Premier Division League campaign. Following an 11-0 win against Norwich in early March, BA have won 12 and drawn just 1 of their 13 league games this season. BA have been extremely prolific in front of goal this season scoring an amazing 64 goals so far in the league, averaging almost 5 a game. BA also have a Premier Women’s Cup semi-final to look forward to, as they look to complete a prestigious double.

    Barking Abbey Football Academy celebrated an unforgettable achievement at the prestigious Disney Showcase, as both the Boys and Girls teams were crowned U19 tournament champions in a remarkable display of talent, determination, and teamwork. The Boys team delivered a composed and resilient performance in the final, securing a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Atlantic City FC. Goals from Luca and Andrei proved decisive, with both players stepping up on the big stage to ensure Barking Abbey lifted the trophy. The team showed exceptional discipline, work ethic, and unity throughout the tournament, culminating in a well-earned championship win.

  • Barking Abbey Football Academy Florida, USA - Tour 2026

    In February half term, our student-athletes embarked on an exciting two-week tour of Florida, combining elite competition, university engagement, and international scholarship exploration as part of our Alan Turing Funding Initiative. This unique programme was carefully designed to provide genuine exposure to American college athletics while opening academic and career pathways for our students from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. University Visits & Scholarship Pathways During the tour, we visited six leading colleges and universities across Florida, including Florida Southern College, Eckerd College (NCAA DIV 2) Southeastern University, Webber International University (NAIA) Eastern Florida Junior college and Polk State Junior college (NJCAA Div 1) Each visit included: Engagement with athletic departments and coaching staff Tours of elite training and performance facilities Scholarship pathways and eligibility routes Discussions around internship and work placement opportunities Explore potential internship and work placement opportunities Our students gained first-hand insight into the US collegiate system, experiencing world-class campuses and athletic environments while building relationships that could shape their academic and sporting futures. The Alan Turing initiative continues to support every ambitious student seeking international scholarships, global study opportunities, and long-term career development.

  • Girls Treble Success

    Barking Abbey Girl's Football Academy completed a hugely successful season which has seen the team win an amazing treble! After 10 months and a massive 44 games played, the girls hard work and determination was rewarded in the last 3 games of the season. First was a huge game against Peterborough who Abbey knew they had to beat to secure the National Football Youth League South Premier Women title, Abbey had to do it the hard way and went a goal behind after a 40-yard strike hit the back of the net. Abbey’s belief never faltered though, and an outstanding 2nd half saw the girls score 4 goals, including a 30-yard volley from Nell Doe and header from Ronnie Richards to win 4-1 and complete the 1st part of their treble.

  • Barking Abbey Girls Football Academy continue to push for incredible treble

    The Barking Abbey Girls Academy have been demonstrating their strength as a squad as they continue to be tested by competing in two National cup competitions alongside competing in the National Youth League. The squad were truly put to test recently where the squad had the unfortunate event of both of their National cup Semi-finals from different leagues finals had to be played on the same Wednesday. This meant that our 26-player squad had to be split in half with 13 players only travelling to York College and the other 13 had to travel to Chatham Town. Our York College semi-final squad travelled over 5 hours and prepared well by staying overnight in a hotel, their excellent preparation was critical in their brilliant performance as they took an early lead through a Megan Gerrish header.

  • Alan Turing Funding Florida Tour

    Barking Abbey Football Academy are delighted to report that we secured Alan Turing funding for a second year in a row. The Alan Turing funding is aimed at inclusion for all. This funding made it affordable, so that all our Football & Basketball Academy students were able to experience workplace opportunities and scholarship placements from outside of the UK. As part of the initiative Barking Abbey Football Academy have also continued their international football partnership with Keiser University who are based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

  • Barking Abbey Girls Football Academy on course for quadruple in 2025

    BA Women’s Football Academy had a great 1st half of the season and are currently top of the National Football Youth League having won 8 of their 10 games so far. The girls have also progressed through the group stage and into the last 16 of the ESFA Super Cup and into the latter rounds of the NFYL Trophy and ECFA National Cup. We have also had some great individual success with 9 of our Year 13 students agreeing US College scholarships, as well as Bessie Simpson earning a place in the (ECFA) England Colleges representative side this season. The girls are gearing up for a big 2nd half of the season with plenty of big performances needed to finish the season with silverware.

  • Barking Abbey Boys Football Academy look to retain National ESFA title

    In recent months the boys football academy has grown in performances and results, after a disappointing exit in the FA Youth cup the boys have picked themselves up since then and are unbeaten in the First team and in the development team too. The first team are flying high of the National Alliance U19 League as partnership club Barking FC siting 1st looking to retain the tittle that they have won the past 2 seasons. The Boys are also now through to the last 32 of the ESFA Super League Cup and are looking to retain their national title. They come through the group stage with 2 wins and a draw.

  • Student Athlete earns professional scholarship with Division One club Leyton Orient

  • Barking Abbey graduate helps Daytona win NJCAA title for first time in their history

    Barking Abbey are delighted to announce that 2024 Football Academy Graduate, Javine McKnight has created history to become a NJCAA Div 1 National champion winner. Javine joined Daytona State Junior college on a scholarship in July and has helped the Falcons win their first ever Div 1 women’s NJCAA title!
