About Us
The Barking Abbey Netball Academy is a well-established full time netball programme that continues to build on its successes to be regarded as one of the best post 16 specialist centres in the country.
Barking Abbey school is the perfect setting for talented Netball players to develop their skills in a professional environment inclusive of fantastic facilities and excellent support services. The academy incorporates technical and tactical sessions, strength and conditioning programme and full physiotherapy services. The programme is led by highly qualified coaches with experience of nurturing talent to elite level.
Barking Abbey Netball Academy have a working Partnership with Saracen Mavericks. We are currently a Saracens Mavericks Futures Academy centre, which is part of the performance pathway route to national level. We also have many players from other Netball Super league Franchises as well as current U19 England Academy players and alumni students that are in the Roses full time programme and in the U21 Welsh Academy.
We have further collaborative links with the London & South East clubs, Manor Essex Netball Club, Premier Club Essex Open along with Essex Metropolitan County Academies.
At Barking Abbey success in the classroom alongside sporting performance is central to our ethos. Sports Academy students are provided with support and enrichment services to help achieve their potential.
The student-athlete timetable allows the netball academy student, the ability to study from a range of 25 A Level subjects and 5 vocational subjects alongside their sport specific sessions. The balance of such comprehensive academic structure alongside the specific sporting programme is the element that makes Barking Abbey sports academies so unique.
