Emily Atack visits Barking Abbey

On Friday 4th November, we were lucky enough to be visited by actress and comedian, Emily Atack.

Emily and her team visited Barking Abbey School to film for a prime-time BBC Two documentary which will be aired early next year. Emily wanted to visit Barking Abbey School to speak to some of our Sixth Formers about their experiences growing up with social media. Upon hearing about the 'She's Her Own Leader' programme aiming to empower our young women and boost their aspirations, Emily was keen to be involved. Emily agreed to give an extra hour of her time to sit down with a group of Year 9 girls and share her own experiences of growing up with them, and for them to ask questions of her. The girls chosen found the session very insightful and said that they found her to be very warm and relatable.
