World Book Day

To celebrate World Book Day, we arranged a unique culinary experience in our canteens aimed at promoting the pleasure of reading and inspiring students to explore literature through their taste buds! The event showcased a menu that was inspired by some favourite childhood books, giving students an opportunity to savour the flavours and dishes inspired by some of these texts.

The selection of menu items was curated to align with popular books, such as Willy Wonka Bars from the much-loved classic "Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory," Meatballs & Mash from the renowned children's book "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs," assorted gingerbreads from the ageless tale of "The Gingerbread Man," and Dragon’s Breath Pizza  from the adventurous and unusual story of "Dragons Don’t Cook Pizza."

Overall, the World Book Day celebration at Barking Abbey School was a real success, and we look forward to organising similar themed events in the future to further encourage a love for reading and exploration of the literary world among our students.
