Barking Abbey is delighted to announce our examinations results for 2013.

Our results rose, despite a drop in results nationally at both A level and GCSE.

For the sixth form, the pass rate for Grades A*-E went up to 99.4%; for Grades A*-C it rose to 74.1% and for Grades A*-A it was 16.4%. The Average Points Score per entry rose again to 221.6 (12% above the national average).

At GCSE, 5 or more A*-C Grades including English and Maths went up to 65.4% while the overall 5 or more Grades at A*-C increased to 88.4% (well above the national average). 52 students gained at least 5 A* and A grades.

Congratulations to all the students and staff who worked so hard to ensure that these results were some of the best in the school’s history.

Important Notice for Parents

There is a change to the law on authorising holidays during term time, with effect from this September.  There is also a further change to penalty notices.  Please click here for more information from the DFE

The government are removing, from the 2006 Registration Regulations, reference to family holiday and extended leave as well as the statutory threshold of ten school days.
