Year 10 Mock Interview Day - Friday 13th March

Our year 10 students took centre stage with their Mock Interview Day. There was a great ‘buzz’ of excitement across the whole of Year 10 and it was fantastic to see them respond so well to being given the opportunity to experience a formal interview situation.

A big thank you to all the people in our local community who volunteered to come in to support our Year 10 students with this important event

Barking Abbey Dancers Win London School Games!

Elevate Dance

The first London School Games Key Stage 4 Dance Competition took place on Friday 13 March at the Copper Box, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.  The competition was jointly organised by the London Youth Games and the Exercise, Movement and Dance Partnership (EMDP is the national governing body for dance exercise).

Barking Abbey School’s Elevate Dance Company was invited to represent the borough. 12 schools from across London competed and Barking Abbey School won the competition with a superbly danced and wonderfully moving choreography entitled Broken. The dance was choreographed by Dance teachers Tamsin Butt and Rosie Taylor. The dancers were presented with their medals by Warren Davis, ex- Diversity dancer.

Important Notice for Parents

Taking holidays during term-time is very disruptive for students’ learning.  The Education (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2006 were amended from 1 September 2013, family holidays and extended leave have been removed.  Therefore, unfortunately, the school is no longer able to grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are extreme circumstances.

All leave taken without the Headteacher’s permission will be marked as unauthorised.

  • Live attendance marks and statistics
  • Behaviour and Achievement Reporting
  • School Reports
  • Electronic Copies of Letters sent home
  • The ability to request updates to personal details (subject to proof of change)
